A huge thank you to each and every one of you for purchasing the Shared Sisterhood book. For those of you who haven't, I hope that you will do so soon! I wanted to share some recent highlights from the book launch. And, provide some insights into Shared Sisterhood (TM).
The Rotman School of Management in Toronto hosted me for a book signing and talk earlier this month. Hundreds of people joined us in-person and online to learn how Shared Sisterhood can help organizations become more equitable and just. Here are a few pictures from the event!
Shared Sisterhood® is a unique approach that requires deep introspection and authentic
interpersonal connection. This trademarked approach helps individuals, teams and
organizations work together to dismantle systemic inequities. I've also had the pleasure of
hearing how you all are using Shared Sisterhood to change your lives...the world.
Surfacing your assumptions about identity. When did you become aware of your differing identities? What do your identities mean to you? Why? How do these perceptions affect how you navigate the world? How you perceive others?
Developing authentic connections with people who are different than you. The authentic connections reflect empathy, trust, risk-taking and vulnerability. Both bridge partners value equity.
Working together to dismantle systemic inequities. Assessing organizational systems to ensure equity. Creating action plans (timelines, metrics, specific goals, accountable parties, etc.). The goal is to deliver actual organizational change.
